Jim grew up in western Washington with a love for the outdoors. In 1987 he began visiting Bozeman every summer and moved here for good in 1994. Rather than work for someone else, he decided to open his own firm in 1995 so he could better enjoy Bozeman’s unique opportunities and lifestyle on his own terms.
In addition to his accounting degree, he holds a bachelor's and master's degree in aeronautics and astronautics from the University of Washington (he worked at Boeing for many years - first in their engineering department and later in their internal audit department). In his free time, he enjoys competing in local and regional tennis tournaments along with hunting the Missouri Breaks and fishing the Gallatin. He is a board member and the Finance chair of the Emerson.
